AZ15WL 15kW Dual Shaft Shredder

The AZ15WL is a medium sized 15kW dual shaft shredder designed for tough, low-speed high-torque shredding. It’s ideal when you’ve outgrown very small shredders and need better bite, more robust drivetrain, and a larger cutting chamber—without stepping up to a large heavy-duty unit.

The AZ15WL is commonly used for paper, plastics, product destruction, wood offcuts, light metals, car oil filters, and glass and plastic bottles. Final suitability depends on the exact stream (thickness, contamination, density), how it’s fed, and the cutter configuration selected.

Shaft centre spacing influences how effectively a shredder can grab and pull in larger items. The AZ15WL’s wider shaft spacing helps reduce “bridging” and improves engagement on bulkier material compared with very small shredders.

The AZ15WL can be supplied with different cutter widths (commonly 10 / 16 / 20 / 31 mm, depending on specification). Output size is cutter-dependent—wider cutters generally produce a coarser output, while narrower cutters generally increase the level of reduction (with trade-offs in throughput depending on the material).

Cutter selection depends on:

• your material type (rigid vs flexible, bulky vs dense, contaminated vs clean)

• the destruction level you need (volume reduction vs higher reduction)

• how you will handle the output (conveying, storage, downstream processing)

This class of dual-shaft shredder is generally not intended for fine, tightly controlled final particle sizing. It’s typically a primary shredder for practical size reduction and material liberation. It’s also not ideal for very high-throughput production lines or extremely large/bulky objects that require a larger machine or a different feed arrangement.

The AZ15WL is a 15kW machine specified for 3-phase 415V / 50Hz industrial supply. Your electrician should confirm site protection, cable sizing and installation requirements.

As a guide, the AZ15WL is specified with full load current (FLC) of 27A and DOL starting current of 216A. If starting current is a concern on your site, talk to us about suitable control/starting options for your installation.  We can supply VSD (Variable Speed Drive) control panels if required.

The AZ15WL cutting chamber (over cutters) is 700 mm long and 490 mm wide. This larger chamber is a key reason it suits larger or more awkward items compared with very small shredders.

Overall dimensions are approximately 2226 mm (L) × 900 mm (W) × 398 mm (H), with an approximate weight of 900 kg. Always confirm the final footprint and service access clearances for your installation layout.

The AZ15WL is built around a robust drivetrain designed for torque delivery at low speed. Key features include a planetary reduction gearbox and a 60 mm hex shaft.

Seal protection plates are an option intended to help protect seals in harsher environments (for example, where contamination, fines, or abrasive material may be present). If your stream is dusty, abrasive, wet, or contaminated, ask us whether seal protection plates are recommended for your duty cycle.
