For more than 45 years, Brentwood AZ series pre-breakers have been used in abattoirs and rendering plants throughout Australia, New Zealand and internationally.  The new Brentwood XTR Pre-Breaker Series builds on that proven platform with a new generation of machines designed for even greater strength, reliability and serviceability in demanding meat processing applications.

Designed and manufactured in Australia, XTR Pre-Breakers use Brentwood’s proven slow-speed, high-torque cutting principle to efficiently reduce hard and difficult materials including bone, heads, hocks, carcass material and mixed abattoir by-products. The positive cutting action produces a controlled, consistent product suitable for efficient downstream conveying and rendering.

The XTR range represents a significant evolution of the Brentwood pre-breaker. The machines retain the heavy-duty shaft, cutter and drive principles that have made Brentwood pre-breakers a standard in the Australian meat processing industry, while incorporating an upgraded mechanical platform designed around modern production requirements.

Particular attention has been given to machine strength, protection of critical components, maintainability and ease of servicing, helping reduce downtime and extend operating life in the harsh conditions found in abattoirs and rendering plants.

Available in a range of machine sizes and cutting configurations, the XTR Series can be matched to applications ranging from smaller processing facilities through to high-throughput bovine plants and large rendering operations.

The Brentwood XTR Series is the next step in a pre-breaker design that has been proven in some of the toughest processing environments in the world.

The new XTR Pre-Breaker Series is available in three sizes to suit a wide range of processing requirements: 15 kW, 37 kW and 74 kW, with nominal throughputs of approximately 10, 25 and 50 tons per hour respectively.
