AZ50HD 37kW Dual Shaft Shredder

The AZ50HD is a heavy-duty 37kW dual shaft shredder designed for tough, low-speed high-torque primary shredding. It’s a strong choice when you need a robust, versatile shredder for demanding streams and you want proven reliability in continuous industrial use.

The AZ50HD is widely used because it covers a broad range of heavy-duty applications and was developed to address issues that can occur on smaller machines in tough duties. It has become a “workhorse” model for customers who need reliable performance across multiple waste streams.

Typical AZ50HD applications include tyres, paper, oil filters, steel drums, wood and bark, plastics, medical waste and product destruction. Final suitability depends on the exact stream (size, contamination, density), the way it’s fed, and the cutter configuration selected.

Compared with smaller units, the AZ50HD provides higher installed power and a heavier-duty build designed to handle tougher loads. Its geometry and driveline are intended to deliver strong bite and torque for demanding streams, particularly where smaller machines can struggle or wear faster.

Shaft centre spacing affects how effectively bulky items are grabbed and drawn into the cutters. The AZ50HD’s wider shaft centres help engage larger items and reduce “bridging” on top of the cutters, improving throughput and consistency on bulky feeds.

The AZ50HD is available with different cutting chamber lengths: 1060 mm, 1180 mm, 1274 mm, or custom lengths depending on your application and required throughput.

As a primary shredder, the AZ50HD is generally not intended to produce tightly controlled fine particle sizing on its own. If you need consistent final sizing, this is typically achieved with additional sizing steps (secondary shredding) or alternative machine configurations such as a quad shaft shredder with a sizing screen.

The AZ50HD can be supplied with DOL or VSD control panels, each with auto reverse and overload protection. The best option depends on your material stream, feed method, duty cycle and site electrical constraints. If you need softer starts, more control over torque/speed, or want to manage starting current, discuss VSD control.

The AZ50HD is specified for 3-phase 415V / 50Hz supply and uses a 37kW drive (2 × 18.5kW motors). Your electrician should confirm site protection, cable sizing and installation requirements.
